The immediate local area is excellent for relaxed walks, hiking, and bird watching, not to mention fishing, sailing and golf.. There is a traditional fish festival held in the village every august. On the fringes of Bogazici, where the causeway connects the north and south sides of Tuzla Lake, is the ancient site of Bargilya. The city thrived during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Although barely touched in terms of excavation, a walk around the hillside and waters edge reveals the remains of a temple and the old city walls, an aqueduct and cemetery.
