The resort itself is friendly, attractive (beautiful carefully planned and suiting the countryside around), clean, right on the sea and brilliantly located.
If you want an attractive resort with good facilities, considerate fellow guests, a slim, long beach that is never overcrowded and access to real Turkey the second you step off the resort, then you will love it. Yes, the nearest town, Akbuk, is a 15 minute drive away, but it is a lovely, coastal drive and when you get there it's a real little seaside town and not a huge, tacky tourist destination. The coastline in either direction from the resort is not in the least built up (until you get to Didyma, about 30 mins away) and there are stunning little local coves, beaches, mountain roads and villages, all within half an hour of the resort. Akbuk has several excellent restaurants, we particularly liked Chef Mehmet, The Garden, Olivia's and Pizza Hatti (name notwithstanding), for genuine Turkish cuisine.
The food at the resort is pretty good too especially the Turkish buffet night. The kids love the slide pool but mostly swim in the sea, off the pier. Water sports and boat trips are all available and when you get tired of relaxing at the resort there are plenty of amazing historical sites to visit. There is an option to go to Bodrum for the excellent (mostly outdoor) archaeological museum and lunch on the harbourfront, Labranda, Apollo's temple (40 min), Ephesus (90 min), Pamukkale (3 hours plus, but worth every minute) to name but a few. Chicken shack along the beach from the resort is a great place, right on the water, to watch the sun go down and enjoy fresh fish etc. For some it might be a bit primitive
