This home is lived in part time by the owners and used as a vacation rental the rest of the year. It has extensive art pieces, most made or painted by the owner and it gives the cabin a special feel, an eclectic cabin feel. The fireplace is non operational , but adds to the ambiance of the space. There are plenty of plates and cookware to prepare meals and the kitchen has extra like spices and toaster oven. Explore, hike or bike Dupont State Forest, which sits literally in the backyard waiting for outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, this home is within walking distance to the Ridgeline Trail in DuPont.
Whispering Creek is your vacation getaway in the mountains. Gravel driveways are the norm here with fairly steep hills. Please please bring your 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle to navigate the last section of our driveway.
THE VIEW IS WORTH IT!
If you'd rather sit and enjoy a quiet sunset, the large back deck has scenic mountain views and within ear shot is a whispering creek to add to the serenity of the home. Our guests love the sound of crickets and rustling leaves in the summer breezes while they enjoy the covered porch or open deck.
The home itself has a farmhouse-feel, with a spacious interior that can accommodate six. You can bring the whole family along or leave them at home and enjoy it all yourself. One of the hidden gems of this home is the Master Bathroom, located on the second floor that has an extra-large tub, but no shower. It is a retreat from the rest of the house on the upper level.
Nearby is the Cedar Mountain area with a Moonshine Distillery, the Canteen with several taps and the occaisional food truck, a restaurant or two and Whistle Stop produce stand. I reccomend guests bring their own coffee to use in the drip coffee maker and enough food for day one, then get out and explore and find local offerings of food, drink and experiences. The DuPont State Park access off of Reasonover Road is a less found access point that offers a nice hike, very gentle, into the park where you will come across two lakes and scenic beauty that will elevate your mountain getaway experience and make lasting memories.
