You’ll sleep in a king size bed facing a gorgeous view of modernist city hall with everything you need at your fingertips in this cozy but spacious studio. We are located in the newly re-opened (July ’23) Orenge Building and have been lovingly designed and furnished by expert Durhamites. Next door is the stunning “Velvet Hippo” (the coolest + most popular rooftop bar around) and below the flat is Orenge Durham, an elevated coworking|shared office concept that you’re welcome to access during your time with us.
The studio accommodates 2 guests luxuriously with all the charm you’d expect from a sweet Southern city. A galley kitchen welcomes you opposite a custom-built divider wall made from 100+ year old heart pine absorbed from another part of the building during renovations. A large TV, white noise machine, Nespresso, built-in cooktop, washer+ dryer combo, and convection oven|microwave round out the appliances accompanying a towel warmer in the green zellige tiled bathroom.
We are nestled inside a fully operational mixed-use building and as such, every effort has been made to provide a space to rest from the bustle. However, please expect interactions in common spaces and reasonable sounds that are likely in any downtown district during the weekdays. On the weekends, the bar next door stays open until 2am. If an upscale nightlife is your jam or you don't require absolute quiet to sleep, this listing is perfect for you.
